Hi ~ My name is Carol Mathieson.

I offer private math tutoring for K-5 students at my home in Asheville, NC.

After receiving an undergraduate degree in Business and Computer Science from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania, I worked for IBM designing software, and raised 4 children of my own.  Then I pivoted to teaching.  I have a Masters in Early Childhood Education and taught Kindergarten at a private school in West Asheville.  I received Multisensory Math l and II certifications through the Key Learning Center, an accredited training program with the Orton-Gillingham Academy.

I truly believe childhood is a journey, not a race.  Every child learns at their own pace and in their own unique way.  My goal is to discover what works best for YOUR child.

I tutor students using Multisensory Math techniques and materials.  I cover everything from number fluency, addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, money/time, fractions, word problems, geometry, early algebra, and more.

While I am teaching your child valuable foundational math skills, my hope is that they are having fun and building a positive relationship with math!
